While I was thinking about a recipe for Day 2 of Blogging Marathon #22, I was talking with my friend and her daughter asked me to try this recipe which she saw in a TV show.Though I have not tried hash browns before, the recipe sounded great and healthy with simple ingredients and I immediately made them and we liked it very much.
Ingredients:
Potato(Medium
sized)
3
Green
peas
Handful
Salt
as needed
Black Pepper
powder
1/2 tsp
Chopped
coriander leaves
as needed
Whole
wheat flour
2 tblsp
Milk
(see note below)
¼ cup(approximately)
Oil
1 tblsp
Method:
- Boil Potatoes and green peas.
- Peel off the skin and grate the potatoes.Take a bowl and add grated potatoes, green peas, salt, pepper powder, chopped coriander leaves and mix well with your hands.
- Add the wheat flour and mix well.Add milk slowly till everything comes together. The mixture should not be soggy. You should be able to form patties.
- Heat a fry pan and add little oil.Form patties out of the mixture and slightly flatten it with your hands and roast them till it becomes golden brown on both sides and serve with Tomato ketchup.
- Add milk little by little till you get consistency as shown in the picture. No need to add full 1/4 cup milk.
- Don't overcook the potatoes. They should be firm.
- The original recipe called for adding boiled corn kernels and grated Zucchini.Add finely chopped green chilli if you want it more spicy.
